Robotic line marking: the cure for festival parking panic
Parking is rarely the part of an event people talk about when it works. When it fails, it becomes the only thing people talk about. At Cereals Event 2026, held at Diddly Squat Farm, Origin Amenity Solutions used a TinyLineMarker robot to bring order to the ground before the crowds arrived.
The Cereals Event is the UK's flagship arable farming exhibition, bringing together the latest innovations, equipment and expertise from across the industry. Held this year at Diddly Squat Farm in Chadlington, the two-day event welcomed 550 exhibitors and up to 25,000 visitors.

A calmer start
A large field can look generous until the first wave of cars arrives. Then the small problems start. Rows drift. Spaces disappear. Drivers hesitate. Stewards have to invent a system while traffic is still moving. That is parking panic.
Clear marking changes the mood. It gives stewards a visible plan and helps drivers understand the space without lowering a window and asking questions. It keeps routes open, protects walkways and helps the site feel organised from the first car through the gate.
For the organiser, the gain is practical and immediate: less time marking by hand, less pressure on staff, better use of space and a calmer start to the day.

“The robot helps with manual work that takes time and can otherwise be left to chance, such as car parking. But it also gives organisers room to be creative. That combination is exactly why more events should be looking at building robotic line marking into their plans."
All festivals need a robot
The interesting part is that car parking is only the beginning. A line marking robot can also add life to the festival site itself. It can paint small football pitches, children’s mazes, sponsor zones, activity areas, crowd games and temporary wayfinding. It can paint logos on grass too, which matters more now that drone footage turns festival grounds into a visual surface of their own.
That is the real shift. A robot is not only a tool for infrastructure. It can also help create moments that live on in footage, photos and memories.
